PIF NZ Members to 2025 Section of Electroconvulsive Therapy & Neurostimulation Psychiatry Conference
Five (5) sponsorship places are on offer for eligible PIF members to attend the 2025 Section of Electroconvulsive Therapy and Neurostimulation Psychiatry Conference, held at the Rendezvous Hotel, Queenstown from Friday, 24 October to Sunday 26 October 2025.
Eligible applicants must be:
- a current PIF member from New Zealand
- enrolled as a medical student, postgraduate year 1 & 2 doctor or postgraduate year 3+ doctor.
- PIF members who are trainees or Fellows of other specialties are ineligible to apply.
Sponsorship details
The PIF NZ Scholarship includes:
- Full conference registration including welcome reception.
Please note that travel and accommodation costs, where required, is not covered by this sponsorship and is the responsibility of the PIF Member to arrange and pay for these. Meals outside of the conference program are not included in this sponsorship.
Applicants must request leave at the time of application. Sponsorships will be only offered with evidence of confirmed leave approval.
Applications and outcome
Applicants are required to submit a written statement up to a maximum of 150 words addressing the following application criteria:
- Why they would like to attend this conference.
- How attendance at this conference may benefit and/or influence their medical career aspirations.
Applications must be submitted electronically via the online application form by Thursday, 18 September 2025. Applications received after this time will not be accepted.

Selection Process
The Selection Panel will assess the applications based on the application criteria and determine the successful applicants. The Selection Panel’s decision is final.
The outcome will be announced in late September, and successful applicants are required to confirm their acceptance of a sponsorship by email by the deadline provided.
Terms & Conditions
- Scholarship applicants must meet the eligibility criteria outlined.
- Scholarship offer does not include travel, accommodation or meals outside of the conference program and are the responsibility of the scholarship recipient.
- Leave arrangement: Sponsorship recipients are required to attend the conference in full and applicants must request leave at the time of application. Sponsorships will be only offered with evidence of confirmed leave approval.
- Post-Conference reflection: Scholarship recipients will be required to submit a short reflection on their event attendance and learning outcomes, post-conference attendance.
- Post-Conference contact: Scholarship recipient contact details may be given to the RANZCP Committee of Section Electroconvulsive Therapy and Neurostimulation to continue engagement following the conference.
- Images and/or voices of attendees may be recorded during the Conference for use in RANZCP website, communications and media, including social media. If scholarship recipients do not wish for their image or voice to be publicised email to: pif@ranzcp.org.
