Opportunities for PIF members
The Psychiatry Interest Forum run a range of free events, seminars, competitions and classes so you can connect, learn and explore a career in psychiatry.
We offer:
- scholarships to psychiatry conferences including RANZCP congress, IMIA, Faculty, Section and Branch conferences, seminars

Current opportunities
Existing PIF members are invited to take part in a video competition and share their program experience. Entrants will go in a prize draw to win one of three $200 gift vouchers.
The PIF Essay Competition allows eligible PIF members to explore and discuss a specified topic on psychiatry and/or mental health through a written essay. The winning essay receives A$1000 and is published in Australasian Psychiatry, with 2nd and 3rd place receiving A$500 and A$250 respectively. The word limit for the essay is 1000-1500 words.
The NZ PIF Essay Competition allows eligible NZ PIF members to explore and discuss a specified topic on psychiatry and/or mental health through a written essay. The winning essay receives NZ$1000 and is published in Australasian Psychiatry, with 2nd and 3rd place receiving NZ$500 and NZ$250 respectively. The word limit for the essay is 1000-1500 words.
