Specialise in an area of psychiatry by completing a Certificate of Advanced Training.
- About Certificates of Advanced Training Across all certificate programs you will complete a mix of supervised training, formal education and workplace-based assessments.
- Entry requirements Minimum requirements to begin an Advanced Certificate.
- Addiction psychiatry Specialise in an area of psychiatry focusing on the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of people experiencing addiction disorders.
- Adult psychiatry Specialise in adult psychiatry to extend your skills in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of adults with psychiatric disorders.
- Child and adolescent psychiatry Specialise in psychiatry focusing on the mental health of children and adolescents, and their families.
- Consultation–liaison psychiatry Specialise in the practice of psychiatry in collaboration with a range of other health professionals, usually in a hospital setting.
- Forensic psychiatry Specialise in psychiatric practice that interfaces with criminal and civil law, including assessing criminal responsibility, medico-legal opinions and providing expert evidence.
- Psychiatry of Old Age Specialise in an area of psychiatry relating to the patterns, causes, effects and relationships between the ageing process, medical factors, and the social, psychological, spiritual, and cultural issues of late life.
- Psychotherapies Specialise in a area of psychiatry that explores the connections between meaning and motivation that underpin our feelings, thoughts and behaviours.
- Youth psychiatry Specialise in psychiatry that focuses on the mental health needs of young people (12–25 years), often practised in a consortium model of care.
- Dual certificates Apply to undertake two Certificates of Advanced Training at the same time.
- Receiving your certificate Apply for your certificate and be presented with it at Congress.
- Recognition of prior learning What can be credited towards your Certificate of Advanced Training.
