Queensland awards
Each year, the Queensland Branch awards a prize to the medical students with the highest mark in their mental health rotation for their final year at the University of Queensland, James Cook University, Griffith University and Bond University. Recipients are awarded prize money of $500.
These are the prizes:
- John Bostock Prize in Psychiatry – The University of Queensland
- The RANZCP Basil James Psychiatry Prize – James Cook University
- The RANZCP Paul Schneider Award for Mental Health – Bond University
- RANZCP Dr Joan Lawrence Mental Health Prize – Griffith University
Joan Lawrence Queensland Meritorious Service Award
Presented annually, the award recognises a Fellow of the RANZCP in Queensland who has made a significant and sustained contribution to the practice of psychiatry in a clinical, academic, or administrative capacity.
It may also be awarded to an agency or individual who is not a College Member but who has made a significant and sustained contribution to the improvement of mental health in Queensland. The award is presented at the Bostock Oration.
