Progress on manuscript submissions to peer-reviewed journals

In October 2023, the Anna Freud Centre, a mental health charity and research organisation based in London, United Kingdom, was commissioned by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists to conduct a comprehensive review of the evidence for long-term psychodynamic psychotherapy (LTPP) in treating mood disorders.

The report of the review has been made available to members only to support the submission of the review to an academic journal. This is to allow for independent peer review and to avoid any disputes with publications of commissioned material in advance that may impact on any journal’s decision to accept the review.

The Anna Freud Centre has confirmed that it has submitted manuscripts to peer review journals, seeking to publish this work. Further updates will be provided when available.

For more information, including a summary of the findings, please see the Mood disorders hub. The full report can be accessed by members here.
