New RANZCP accreditation standards for training settings
14 May 2026
Trainee news
The new Accreditation Standards (for training programs and posts) are approved and now published on the College Accrediting posts, programs and courses webpage. Implementation of these new standards will be phased:
• Training Program accreditation: effective 1 July 2026
• Training Post accreditation: effective end of December 2026
Training sessions will be scheduled for those involved in conducting accreditation assessments.
A dedicated webpage is available with details about the changes to the accreditation standards and what to do next.
To support these new standards, reporting templates have been revised along with other resources, to facilitate consistent reporting and compliance.
Several related documents have also been introduced or refreshed and are also located on the accreditation webpage:
• New: Accreditation Risk Framework
• Updated: Accreditation Policy
• Updated: Removal of Accreditation Policy and Procedure
• New: Procedure for Accreditation of Training Programs
• New: Procedure for Accreditation of Training Posts (coming soon)
If you have any questions about these changes, or accreditation in general, or are interested in being more involved as a panel member, you can contact the Accreditation Team at accreditation@ranzcp.org.
