Message from the Chair of the Committee for CPD: Professor Richard Harvey

The new Incubator Peer Review Groups (IPRGs) were launched on 18 August 2026 to provide a structured pathway for members who may find it challenging to join an existing Peer Review Group or establish a new one. I am pleased to report that this new initiative has been received very positively, with over 70 expressions of interest to join an IPRG received in the first two weeks resulting in five IPRGs currently meeting.

Special thanks to the experienced RANZCP Fellows who have made this a success by volunteering to facilitate the IPRGs. If you are looking for a PRG, or need to join an additional PRG, support continues to be available with expressions of interest open until July 2027.

An important reminder for all Peer Review Group (PRG) Coordinators. The annual PRG survey remains open, and the closing date has been extended to 31 October 2026 to allow more time for responses. Your participation is important as PRGs operate under qualified privilege under a condition that the College reports annually on the activities of the PRGs to the relevant health authorities, which depends on your participation in the annual survey.

With the end of the CPD year approaching, you will soon be invited to provide feedback on the 2026 RANZCP CPD Program through a survey to better understand what is working well and what areas can be improved. I encourage you to participate and provide feedback based on your own personal experience. It’s anonymous, confidential and allows us to continue enhancing our CPD program.

As you look to finalise your CPD claim for 2026, please remember to contact the CPD Team early for assistance if you foresee any difficulties in meeting your CPD requirements. There are a range of support options available including deferral or exemption from CPD.

Please feel free to contact me and the Committee via CPDHelp@ranzcp.org if you have any suggestions or wish to provide feedback.
