As we reach the midpoint of the CPD year, I would like to like to acknowledge the ongoing commitment that RANZCP members demonstrate to maintaining and enhancing the quality of psychiatric care across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

Continuing Professional Development is more than a requirement of professional practice. It is a commitment to lifelong learning, reflection, continuous improvement and the delivery of safe, high-quality care for our patients and communities. The strong engagement we continue to see across the CPD Program reflects members' dedication to these principles.

I am pleased to share that overall, 2025 CPD compliance remains exceptionally high at 98.8%. This achievement reflects the professionalism and commitment of members who continue to prioritise their professional development while balancing the many demands of clinical practice.

Our commitment to quality and accountability is also evident through the CPD audit process. During this period, 283 CPD records were audited and, following support and guidance from the CCPD and CPD team, all participants successfully met the audit requirements. This positive outcome highlights the value of engaging with the process and seeking assistance when needed.

This year, the RANZCP CPD Practice Peer Review Program saw strong engagement in Round 1, with 165 participants and 60 facilitators involved. On behalf of the CCPD, I extend my sincere thanks to our facilitators who are all RANZCP Fellows that generously contributed their time, expertise and experience to support their colleagues. Practice Peer Review continues to provide a valuable opportunity for reflection, collegial learning and meaningful professional growth.

To further support members, a new Learnit CPD module is now available, providing practical guidance on the RANZCP CPD Program and helping members better understand their requirements and obligations

Look out for more details next month of our new PRG Incubator program. If you are looking for a PRG, or need to join an additional PRG you will be able to sign up to join a facilitated incubator peer review group with the aim of forming into a new stable and ongoing peer group. There will be more information and a formal announcement in August.
