rTMS course endorsement
The RANZCP endorses training courses in Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS). This training allows psychiatrists in Australia to claim Medicare (MBS) items for rTMS services.
To submit your course for endorsement:
- review the standards and criteria
- complete the application form
- pay the required fee.

Fees
The application fee is $189 (subject to change).
This fee is non-refundable. If your application is successful, you will be charged the endorsement fee outlined below.
Approved endorsement fees for 2026:
- $890 full-day event / CPD activity (subject to change)
- $445 half-day event / CPD activity (subject to change)
- $1,780 1-3 day event / CPD activity, valid for maximum of 2 years (subject to change)
- $2,465 event/CPD activity of more than 3 days, valid for maximum of 2 years (fee subject to change)
- $1,780 online course or event, valid for maximum of 2 years (fee subject to change).
Course endorsement process
All rTMS training courses are assessed by the rTMS Subcommittee of the Committee for Continuing Professional Development (CCPD). The subcommittee assesses courses against standard criteria for CPD courses in addition to the specific criteria required for rTMS courses.
