Applications for the position of Editor, the Australian & New Zealand Journal of Psychiatry are now open.
The RANZCP invites applications from suitably qualified members for the position of Editor, the Australian & New Zealand Journal of Psychiatry (ANZJP).
The ANZJP’s current Editor, Professor Chris Davey, is concluding his term during 2024.
The ANZJP is the leading psychiatry journal of the Asia-Pacific region, and the College is deeply appreciative to Professor Davey for his leadership as Editor, and for his commitment to scholarly publishing and advancing new research.
About the opportunity
The position of Editor, ANZJP is an important role within the College and has significant responsibility and independence to oversee the publication of the journal.
The Editor, ANZJP is an honorary appointment made by the RANZCP Board. The initial term of appointment is five years, and reappointment for a second five-year term is possible.
Working closely with the journal’s publisher, the Editor has final, overall responsibility for each issue of the ANZJP. The Editor is assisted by Deputy Editors, Associate Editors and an editorial board, and appropriate editorial office support is also provided.

About the Australian & New Zealand Journal of Psychiatry
The ANZJP is a monthly journal of the RANZCP and was first published in 1967. It provides a medium for the publication of high quality, peer reviewed, original research articles, reviews and correspondence in the field of psychiatry.
The ANZJP publishes original articles which describe research or report opinions of interest to psychiatrists. These contributions may be presented as original research, reviews, perspectives, commentaries and letters to the editor. More than 970,000 articles are downloaded annually.
