Addiction psychiatry is the psychiatric subspecialty focusing on the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of people experiencing addiction disorders.
The Faculty of Addiction Psychiatry:
- promotes the objectives of the College relating to addiction psychiatry
- advises on training in addiction psychiatry through the subcommittee of advanced training
- advances and disseminates research in addiction psychiatry
- contributes to and promotes the highest standards of clinical practice.
