Women in psychiatry: Celebrating the stories behind the careers

The RANZCP Gender Equity Subcommittee is inviting women psychiatrists and trainees to share their stories, and the wider community to nominate women whose contributions to psychiatry deserve to be recognised.

The Women in psychiatry: The stories behind the careers campaign aims to celebrate the women making meaningful contributions to psychiatry across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. Ahead of International Women’s Day on 8 March 2027, we’ll share stories that highlight the experiences, achievements and contributions of women who help shape our profession.

We are seeking expressions of interest from women psychiatrists and trainees, as well as nominations from anyone who would like to recognise a woman whose work and contributions deserve to be celebrated. You don’t need to have received awards or held formal leadership positions to put yourself or someone else forward.

Help us celebrate the women shaping psychiatry across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.
