Update
The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) welcomes Dr Astha Tomar to the role of College President, 2025-2027.
Dr Tomar is currently based in Melbourne and her professional journey has spanned India, New Zealand and Australia. This has included numerous leadership roles and clinical appointments with significant contributions to mental health governance and system development.
“Stepping into the role of College President of the RANZCP is both a great honour and a deep responsibility,” said Dr Tomar.
“Psychiatrists bring a deep care and commitment to our patients, to our profession, and also to our College. In the context of stretched and fragmented systems across our two countries, our voice—collective, informed, and compassionate—has never been more needed."

“I know that members want a College that leads with integrity, listens openly, and acts with purpose, and I am committed to helping build a College that is connected, relevant, and meaningfully contributing to our members and the communities we serve."
