Statement on NSW Health-ASMOF IRC Arbitration
17 Mar 2025
NSW workforce crisis
The Industrial Relations Commission (IRC) will today begin an arbitration hearing between the NSW Ministry of Health and the Australian Salaried Medical Officers’ Federation (ASMOF) which involves psychiatrists employed in the public sector.
The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) is accredited to train psychiatrists and administer their ongoing education, and develops professional standards for the delivery of psychiatric care. This ensures the community can have confidence in the treatment their psychiatrists provide.
The RANZCP urges the parties involved in this arbitration to find a solution which addresses the critical system issues and ensures the community can access acute care as and when it is required.
