Lived and living experience survey finding and recommendations

The College is continuing to progress its Lived and Living Experience Strategy with important foundations now established across governance, education, communications and participation activities. 

Earlier this year, the College completed its first organisation-wide Lived and Living Experience Survey to identify shared themes, differing perspectives, and priorities to guide the next phase of this work. We received responses from 234 members, 47 staff and 14 community members.

The findings indicate positive momentum, with community members reporting the strongest sense of progress and all groups identifying inclusion and capability as relative strengths. 

The findings also highlight opportunities to increase awareness of how the strategy is being implemented, strengthen partnership approaches, and make the influence of lived and living experience perspectives more visible in College activities and decision-making. Across all groups, there’s opportunity to strengthen recognition of lived and living experience as distinct and equal expertise, and to demonstrate more clearly how this expertise contributes to decisions, policies and practice. 

These insights will help inform the next phase of implementation as we continue to build on progress, strengthen organisational ownership, and embed lived and living experience expertise across the College.
