Consultant Psychiatrist
Dr Yumna Dhansay is a consultant psychiatrist based in private practice in Sydney, Australia. She is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and the College of Psychiatrists of South Africa. She has additional specialist qualifications in child and adolescent psychiatry, and forensic psychiatry. She holds a Master of Philosophy (Child and Adolescent Psychiatry) from the University of Cape Town and a Master of Forensic Mental Health from the University of New South Wales.
Dr Dhansay has a keen interest in women’s mental health across the lifespan which is the focus of her private practice in Sydney. Her medicolegal practice focusses primarily on family law and care and protection matters within the jurisdictions of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia and the Children’s Court of NSW, respectively.
Dr Dhansay has previously been a staff specialist in a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) and a Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Service (PIMHS) with the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District. She has also had appointments as staff specialist and visiting forensic and child and adolescent psychiatrist with the Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network (NSW) and as a conjoint lecturer with UNSW.
