Associate Professor Robert Kaplan is a forensic psychiatrist, writer and historian. He has positions at University of Wollongong, Western Sydney University, University of NSW and is Research Associate (history) at Stellenbosch University. He has written about Helen Flanders Dunbar, the mother of psychosomatic medicine and his book Promise Unfulfilled: The Life of Mary Barkas, psychiatrist and psychoanalyst is in press.
