Fred is Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) for Dementia and Delirium at Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH), Brisbane and research fellow with Australian Frailty Network, University of Queensland. He is a clinical and academic expert in hospital management of changed behaviours and psychological symptoms in dementia and symptoms of distress in delirium. As recipient of the Metro South Health Future Research Leader Fellowship 2023, Fred’s research explores models of care, pain-related agitation, workforce capability development, situated experiential learning and system redesign. Fred is currently Nursing Director and Clinical Lead for the statewide Redesign project PROVIDE—Practical Redesign Options for Violence in Dementia and Delirium.
