Dr Eric Reinhart

Dr Reinhart is a political anthropologist, psychoanalyst and physician whose work focuses on the intersection of medicine, law and social justice. He holds an MD from the University of Chicago and a PhD in anthropology from Harvard University, and has completed advanced training at the Chicago Center for Psychoanalysis & Psychotherapy.

Dr Reinhart has led health and justice systems research for the World Bank’s DE JURE program, with a focus on the public health impacts of mass incarceration, poverty and state violence. He advocates for structural healthcare reform and community-driven models of care.

In clinical practice, Dr Reinhart works with academic professionals, creatives and survivors of severe trauma. His essays and commentary have appeared in The New York Times, The Atlantic, The Guardian and The New England Journal of Medicine.
