The RANZCP will soon launch a series of information webinars to support stakeholders involved in accreditation activities as the College transitions to the new accreditation standards. The sessions will outline the purpose and goals of the changes, what they mean for training programs and posts, and how services can prepare. All stakeholders involved in accreditation activities (panel members, DOTs, supervisors, trainees, and relevant committee members and College staff) are encouraged to participate in the information sessions to gain more insight into the upcoming changes to the RANZCP Accreditation Standards for Training Programs and Training Posts.
What you will learn
Risk-matrix framework: A new decision-making model will support transparent, consistent, and proportionate accreditation outcomes.
Transition timeline: Accreditation of training programs will commence under the new standards in mid-2026, with accreditation of training posts to follow by end-2026.
Key benefits: The updated standards will improve national consistency, provide clearer expectations for health services, and streamline accreditation processes.
Next steps
Webinar dates and registration details are being finalised and will open shortly. Updates will be shared as the transition progresses.
The new RANZCP Accreditation Standards for Training Programs and Training Posts will be published soon. More information is available at Changes to accreditation of training settings.
