The RANZCP are pleased to announce that after two years of development, the Certificate of Postgraduate Training in Clinical Psychiatry (the Certificate), will be launched on 2 September 2024. 

The Certificate is a new educational opportunity for the College, where medical practitioners such as general practitioners, rural generalists and emergency medicine physicians will work their way through a curriculum based on experiential learning to improve their skills in the provision of mental health care for our communities. Participants will receive direct supervision from RANZCP Fellows, engage in peer group discussions, complete various learning activities such as logbook and case-based reflections on patients presenting with mental health conditions in their medical practice. As well as completing ten extensive online learning modules on foundational aspects of psychiatry, psychiatry assessment and prevalent mental health conditions. The design of the curriculum focuses on flexibility, with the participant being able to undertake the program in their current medical practice. 

The College is excited to welcome our first participants of the program, who will commence on 2 September 2024. 

The College would like to thank RANZCP Fellows who have applied to become accredited Certificate Supervisors, Reviewers or Facilitators. 

 The RANZCP would like to thank the Australian Government, Department of Health and Aged Care (DoHAC) for funding the development of the program, as well as the various members who have been engaged in the development through positions on the governing Committees.
