The NSW Branch of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) has developed its 2022/23 Pre-Budget Submission (Submission) to the NSW Government advocating for improved investment in mental health services.
Our Submission highlights priority issues to improve the delivery of mental health services to thousands of people with mental health issues living in NSW. Specifically, it calls on the government to invest:
- $16 million annually to boost existing NSW Health Older People’s Mental Health (OPMH) services
- $25 million over five years to establish the Illawarra Women’s Trauma Recovery Centre, and
- $860,000 over three years to establish a state-wide telepsychiatry consultation service to assess and advise on the treatment of people with severe brain injury.
