Good medical practice relies on trust between doctors and patients and their families that is built on doctors maintaining the highest ethical standards.. The RANZCP welcomes the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority’s (AHPRA) commitment to increase patient protection against misconduct.
The ABC have recently examined historical disciplinary decisions against health professionals, and published a follow up piece focused on mental health professionals.
The RANZCP has a zero tolerance policy on proven sexual boundary violations, including the policy to revoke the fellowship of members with proven sexual misconduct complaints against them.
