On Tuesday 16 June, the College submitted its 2026 Annual Progress Report to the Australian Medical Council (AMC), outlining improvements in training oversight, trainee wellbeing, and cultural safety.
This report is an important part of maintaining the College’s accreditation and improving training quality. It outlines progress made over the past year against the AMC standards, including work to strengthen monitoring and evaluation, enhance curriculum design, support trainee wellbeing, and embed First Nations and Lived and Living Experience perspectives across the education and training program.
Many of these activities are shaped by member input – particularly through committees and consultations – and reflect a continued focus on improving the training experience and outcomes for trainees and Fellows.
Alongside the College’s submission, the trainee committees also provided independent input to the AMC on their experience of the training program. This forms an important part of the accreditation process.
Thank you to the many members, trainees, and staff who have contributed their time and expertise to this work over the past year.
Preparation is now underway for the next stage of the accreditation process, including a visit by the AMC later this year.
