SASMOA will provide an overview of how a Consultant can access their right to private practice in the public sector, the range of options to choose from, and how this operates under the various schemes. Doctor's will gain a broad understanding of their financial and billing entitlements as salaried public sector Consultants.
Roushan Walsh - Industrial Officer SASMOA
Roushan has more than 10 years experience working for unions in Adelaide and Sydney. She has worked with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (SA Branch) and the Australian Services Union, and as both an Industrial Officer and Senior Legal Officer with the Australian Workers’ Union. She has a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Australian National University on top of a Bachelor of Law / Arts (Psychology) from the University of Adelaide. Roushan assists with Consultants employed at CALHN, Medstar and regional LHNs.
Tea Boromisa (LLB/LP, BSc (Psych)) Industrial Coordinator SASMOA
Tea covers the Women's and Children's Health Network and Trainee Medical Officers at the Central Adelaide LHN (Royal Adelaide Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital). Graduating from Flinders University in 2017 with a double degree in Laws and Legal Practice and Behavioural Science (Psychology), Tea was admitted to the Supreme Court the same year. Tea joined SASMOA in 2019 and is the SASMOA Industrial Coordinator.
Dr Anthony Dinesh
Join Dr Anthony Dinesh for a practical overview of Rights of Private Practice (ROPP), including contracts, billing, Medicare requirements, indemnity, taxation, and key considerations for establishing and managing a successful private practice. Ideal for psychiatrists considering private practice alongside public sector work.
Dr Anthony Dinesh is the Director of Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) at Glenside Neurostimulation Service. He also serves as the Chair of the South Australia Section of ECT and Neurostimulation. Employed by BHF Local Health Network (LHN), Dr. Dinesh provides clinical leadership for both the Distance Consultation Service and the Emergency Triage and Liaison Service. In addition to his roles at Glenside, he works one day a week in private practice and contributes to the ECT roster at Ramsay Clinic Adelaide.
