The Queensland Faculty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry would like to welcome you to their annual Day Conference 2026.

This year we will be focusing on ‘Stages and States’, how technology (including social media and artificial intelligent) continues to influence young people in novel ways, and how increased understanding of developmental needs impacts our practice.

We are excited to welcome our keynote speaker, Dr Reem Shafi, a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist who has worked in the UK, US, and now in far north Queensland. She has presented internationally on the impacts of social media use in adolescents, and has several publications as well as authored book chapters on this topic.

Dr Shafi will present ‘Social media use, mental health and the psychiatric assessment’.  This will be followed by a broad range of topical and interesting presentations, as well as lively discussions.

We hope that you will find the program engaging and informative and that you will enjoy catching up in the beautiful new venue of Hillstone in St Lucia.

We look forward to seeing you there.
