From Registrar to Consultant: Navigating the transition
The Queensland Branch and QPTA kindly invite you to attend their upcoming event for psychiatry registrars, focused on career development, the fellowship transition, and navigating consultant interviews. Funded by the Queensland Branch, this day has been designed with registrars in mind - bringing together experienced consultants and hands-on learning to help you prepare with confidence for the next stage of your career. There are 50 seats available for in-person attendance and an option to attend online.
Whether you're approaching the end of training or beginning to think ahead, this is a space to hear from colleagues who have made this transition recently, ask the questions you might not know where else to raise, and build practical skills you can take directly into interviews and your early consultant years.
- Consultant interviews - What to expect and how to present yourself at your best
- Fellowship transition - Insights from consultants who have recently made the move
- Career pathways - Navigating your options and building a sustainable career in psychiatry
- Dynamic Education workshop - Hands-on session to build communication, confidence, and performance under pressure
Our workshop session is facilitated by Dynamic Education, who bring techniques drawn from theatre and the performing arts to professional development. Their approach is practical and engaging, attendees can expect to leave with tools you can use straight away, whether in an interview room, a ward round, or your first consultant post.
The session focuses on confident delivery, communication under pressure, and authentic connection - skills that matter throughout a consultant career, not just at the interview stage.
