In-personThis international conference, co-hosted by the RANZCP Faculty of Forensic Psychiatry and NIMHANS, will be held across four days from Monday 2 - Thursday 5 November 2026 at the NIMHANS Convention Centre, Bengalaru, India.
Under the theme ‘Bridging the Gap', the conference will be a global gathering advancing forensic psychiatry knowledge and practice. This conference aims to explore critical interfaces in forensic psychiatry between research and practice, courts and clinics, custody and care, punishment and rehabilitation, fostering dialogue that strengthens evidence-based, ethical, and humane forensic mental psychiatry systems.
This conference also seeks to bridge the gap between Australia and India in forensic psychiatry by fostering academic, clinical, and policy-level collaboration. By sharing experiences from diverse legal systems, service models, and cultural contexts, the conference aims to promote mutual learning in areas such as forensic training, service delivery, risk assessment, rehabilitation, and human rights-based care. Strengthening Australia–India partnerships will contribute to developing globally informed, locally relevant, and evidence-based forensic psychiatry training and practices. There will be updates across forensic psychiatry, bringing in recent research and developments with expert panels of clinical expertise and contemporary practice.
