Community Member Positions
The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) works with community members to ensure community knowledge, perspectives and lived expertise inform the College’s work.
Community members contribute to committees, advisory groups and projects across the College in Australia and New Zealand. Many roles are held by people with lived or living experience of psychiatry, including consumers and carers/whānau. Some positions are also specifically dedicated to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Māori community members.
Why these roles matter
Community members help ensure the College’s work reflects the perspectives of the people and communities psychiatry serves. Their insights inform policy, education and training, professional standards, and the College’s broader advocacy and strategy.
