Dr Mike Verheggen is a WA-trained Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist with interests in psycho-oncology, end of life care, neuropsychiatry & epilepsy and transplant psychiatry. He has a background in training and patient safety and is currently a Consultation-Liaison psychiatrist at Joondalup Health Campus and Co-Director of Training at WA Postgraduate Training in Psychiatry.
Having an interest in health system leadership and management, Mike also has previous experience in patient safety and clinical quality at WA Health. He has been involved in college activities since his trainee days at Branch and binational levels. Since fellowship, Mike has been a member of the WA Faculty of Consultation-Liaison Committee and chaired that local faculty from 2019 until 2022, he has also sat on the WA Branch Committee since 2017 and took over the role of Branch Chair in 2022.
