Grant Blake

Dr Blake is a Clinical Psychologist on the Sunshine Coast, a fitness to stand trial researcher with Forensic CYMHS, and a sessional researcher with Swinburne University. He often provides expert witness assessments for criminal and civil law matters in various parts of the country. His most common referral pertains to when there is disagreement between expert witnesses about whether someone is feigning mental illness, cognitive impairment, and/or incapacity. He has a particular interest in examining the strengths and weaknesses of assessment procedures, including psychometric assessment tools, to consider the risk of false positive and false negative conclusions about intentional and unintentional feigning. Dr Blake also enjoys undertaking fitness to stand trial assessments, sexual and non-sexual violence risk assessments, and trauma focussed therapy.
