RANZCP Program of Assessments – recording of Congress presentation now available

During the 2023 Congress in Perth, the College presented a symposium on Transformation in Assessments: what does the future hold?. This is now available for all members to view.

The panellists provided an overview of the proposed program of assessments for the future, discussed the two options being considered for development, and addressed concerns raised during the consultation process to date.

The symposium also featured a live Q&A, with panellists answering questions on the concept of fairness, details of the summative OCA, partnership with health services to support workplace assessment, rigour and quality of assessments, consistency and support for supervisors across the jurisdictions, AMC reaccreditation conditions and new AMC framework for interns, and preparing psychiatrists for private practice. 

The panel consisted of Dr Nick O'Connor, Chair of the Education Committee; Prof Lambert Schuwirth, researcher and international expert in medical education and assessment; Dr Pramudie Gunaratne, the College’s first Trainee Board Director; Dr Jarrad Paul, WA representative on the Bi-national Committee for Trainees; Dr Song Chan, Director of Training in Auckland; Anna Lyubomirsky, Executive Manager  Education and Training at RANZCP; and Dr Anita Bhatt, Education Assessment Specialist Consultant.
