RANZCP Diploma of Psychiatry - upcoming consultation
24 Jul 2023
The Diploma will be a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunity focusing on enhancing the clinical skills of medical practitioners to deliver mental health care to patients, within their primary area of practice, through experiential learning. Extensive consultation is required to establish a Diploma that is functional for such a broad audience.
Development continues with the Information Technology (IT) and Diploma teams working together to create the required IT infrastructure for the implementation of the Diploma. The Teaching and Learning Steering Group has also convened and is preparing the content of online learning modules.
The RANZCP is planning to launch the Diploma in 2024 and will be undertaking an extensive consultation in the coming months and will provide the opportunity for members to comment on the overall structure of the Diploma and the learning and assessment strategy. The updated graduate and curriculum learning outcomes following the previous consultation will also be circulated.
Communications will be circulated prior to the launch of the consultation.
Please note the Diploma program being developed by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists is vocational training for graduate medical practitioners and is not a higher education award in accordance with the Australian Qualifications Framework.
