The RANZCP has endorsed the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia’s Clinical indications for pharmacogenomic testing in Australia.
In December 2023, the College provided a response to the consultation about the clinical indications and was supportive of the project.
The clinical indications provide national guidance for pharmacogenetic testing to support precision medicine and patient care. This includes advice about the level of evidence for pharmacogenetic testing of psychotropic medications to assist psychiatrists in their prescribing.
The clinical indications and other resources can be accessed via the Pharmacogenetics in healthcare webpage.
