New RANZCP Advanced Skills Development in Rehabilitation Psychiatry – now available

RANZCP is pleased to announce the launch of the Advanced Skills Training in Rehabilitation Psychiatry learning modules, developed in collaboration with the New South Wales Ministry of Health.

This is a free self-paced online learning suite designed for Fellows and Stage 2 and 3 trainees. It offers a structured but flexible pathway to deepen your expertise in mental health rehabilitation and recovery. All modules are eligible for Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Explore the Three-Tiered Learning Modules:

Tier 1: Foundation and Practice-Informed Practitioner
Build a strong “rehabilitation lens” and gain foundational knowledge in recovery-oriented rehabilitation practices.

Tier 2: Mental Health Rehabilitation Practitioner
Develop the skills to work effectively in specialist rehabilitation services. This tier focuses on navigating complexity, embracing diversity, and enhancing communication with families and external agencies.

Tier 3: Advanced Mental Health Rehabilitation Practitioner (launching late 2026)
Gain advanced insights into the evidence base and leadership in mental health rehabilitation. Understand how rehabilitation and recovery fit within broader mental health and psychosocial recovery frameworks.

*Please note: This Advanced Skills Development course is a module learning training course and not an Advanced Training Certificate. Some modules require access to the Mental Health Professional Online Development Program (MHPOD) eLearning.

You can create a free account via the MHPOD eLearning Portal. This learning path has been developed with funding from NSW Health and written by experts in Australia. An attempt has been made to ensure the information is applicable to different contexts. Participants in both Australia and New Zealand are eligible to complete the learning path but need to reflect on the applicability to their local context.
