RANZCP Fellow, Dr Jodi Eatt, was awarded the iconic Australian Indigenous Doctors’ Association (AIDA) stethoscope at the AIDA conference earlier this month.
The special, hand-painted AIDA stethoscope marks the momentous achievement of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander doctors, and is gifted to them upon graduating from medical school and/or becoming a Fellow. The AIDA stethoscope symbolises the history and future of First Nations medicine as each additional doctor and Fellow works to change the landscape of healthcare across Australia and normalise our mob being medical professionals.
Traditionally the appropriate stethoscope is presented to members during a special ceremony at the gala dinner of the annual AIDA conference.
