The evening kicks off at 5.00 PM with a Christmassy social. Don your best (or worst!) Christmas frock, jumper, or Grinchy style outfit and join us for a merry meet, greet, eat, and be merry session. You'll have the chance to mingle with your colleagues and enjoy the esteemed company of our College CEO, Damien Ferrie, and the internationally renowned Professor of Psychiatry from the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science, Professor Paul Croakin, who is joining us all the way from the United States.

From 6.30 PM to 7.45 PM, add one final notch to your CPD learnings for the year with Professor Paul Croakin's presentation on TMS for treatment-resistant depression in adolescents and the latest updates in research. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable insights and expand your knowledge on this important topic.

Prof. Paul Croarkin

Prof. Croarkin focused on understanding the neurobiology, optimal treatment and classification of mood disorders in children and adolescents. This includes studies of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) for adolescent major depressive disorder; collaborative clinical trials; studies of neurophysiology with magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS); and novel, single and paired-pulse transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) paradigms.

A central theme among Dr. Croarkin's research is investigating the role of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and glutamate neurotransmitter systems in early-onset mood disorders with the goal of informing safer and more effective biologic treatments.
