Presenter

Professor David Coghill

David Coghill is a child and adolescent psychiatrist by training. His research focuses on developing a better understanding of the pathophysiology of ADHD, conduct disorder and depression using a range of approaches including neuropsychopharmacology, neuroimaging and genetics and developing and personalising approaches to the treatment of child and adolescent mental health problems through the development of biomarkers, neurocognitive phenotypes, clinical trials, pharmacoepidemiology and patient reported outcomes. He has maintained a strong clinical presence and has worked hard to develop clinical pathways that facilitate the rapid transfer of research evidence into routine clinical practice. In addition to his academic role at the University of Melbourne where he is Deputy Head of the Department of Paediatrics, he is part of the neurodevelopmental disorders team at The Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne.
