The New South Wales Rural Readiness workshop (Friday, 26th – Saturday, 27th September 2025) held in the beautiful Port Macquarie is an exciting opportunity for trainees and Specialist International Medical Graduates (SIMG) to establish and expand the skills necessary to engage in rural practice.

The Port Macquarie region is situated on the Mid-North Coast and is renowned for its natural beauty, stunning beaches, and abundance of wildlife. The region encompasses the town of Port Macquarie, Wauchope and Hinterland, Camden Haven and charming tiny towns and villages throughout.

This workshop will allow you to network with peers, enhance preparedness for training and practice in a rural location and build an understanding of psychiatry in rural Australia.

The workshop will feature an evening networking event on Friday, 26th September 2025, and an all-day interactive workshop on Saturday, 27th September 2025.

Selected participants will be funded for accommodation, travel and meals.
