RANZCP responds to Bondi Junction inquest recommendations

The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) has formally responded to the recommendations directed to the College from the Inquest into the deaths at Westfield Shopping Centre, Bondi Junction on 13 April 2024 (the Inquest).
We extend our sincere condolences to the families, friends, and all those affected by the tragic events of that day. We take the findings and recommendations of the Inquest with the utmost seriousness and is committed to ensuring that psychiatrists are supported with high-quality, evidence-informed clinical resources to guide their practice and to support the safety and wellbeing of patients and the broader community. The College thanks Her Honour for delivering the Bondi Junction Inquest.
RANZCP is committed to taking meaningful and constructive action in response to the findings and recommendations of the Inquest. We are also committed to keeping relevant stakeholders informed as our work progresses.
