Crazy Socks 4 Docs Day 2025
6 Jun 2025
Update
Today marks CrazySocks4Docs Day, an initiative aimed at raising awareness and breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health for doctors and healthcare professionals.
CrazySocks4Docs was founded by Dr Geoffrey Toogood, who has lived experience of depression and anxiety. After facing his own mental health challenges and experiencing discrimination, he was determined to address the issues faced by health professionals and reduce stigma.
Dr Astha Tomar, RANZCP President, proudly wore her crazy socks today to show her support for this important cause and encouraged all RANZCP members to do the same.
It was heartwarming to see so many RANZCP members and staff coming together to combat the stigma surrounding mental health and wearing their crazy socks.

If you are a psychiatrist or trainee dealing with health or personal issues, remember that you are not alone. Many doctors face their own health challenges, but not enough speak about them or seek help.
The College is dedicated to supporting all members experiencing mental health difficulties and encouraging them to seek the help they need.
If you or a colleague require support, please visit our Wellbeing support for members webpage.
Any member and their family can also access free confidential counselling, support or coaching from qualified professionals, through an independent and external employee assistance service funded by the RANZCP.
The College also has a range of self-help guides and wellbeing resources on how to look after your mental health so that you can provide the best care to others.
Share your crazy sock photos on social media using #crazysocks4docs.
