Dr Kristine Mercuri

Kristine is a C/L and perinatal psychiatrist who has been part of a maternity team at RWH for the last 14 Years. Additionally she was the lead consultant on a mother baby inpatient program at Mercy Hospital.

Kristine is a member of the RANZCP perinatal special interest group and an accredited college supervisor in adult and C/L psychiatry.

She has also had significant mindfulness training undertaken over 15 years.

Kristine developed the MindBabyBody (TM ) program at RWH arising out of the large number of referrals for anxiety and depression in pregnancy. It was noted that traditional educational information based perinatal education programs were not containing anxiety in a significant cohort of women seeking maternity care.

The MBB program is a group program of five weeks duration based on self reflection, mindfulness and experiential skills development appropriate to pregnancy, birth and making meaningful connections to the baby.
