Assuming a clinical leadership role within the Older Persons Mental Health Service, you will contribute to the provision of safe, best practice-based, cost effective and consumer-focused clinical services. You will be expected to provide clinical services of the highest possible standard to Mental Health consumers, both in terms of individual performance and by clinical leadership and contribution to a multidisciplinary approach to the delivery of patient care. You will be providing a clinical service to the older person’s age group across a number of facilities and services, from hospital to community-based settings. Taking an active involvement in the teaching of Trainee Medical Officers, Interns and medical students and, where appropriate Nursing and Allied Health staff, you will participate in clinical audit and quality, safety and clinical risk management activities. You may also contribute to relevant research and continuous medical education activities, and will have the opportunity to shape the ongoing development and improvement of service delivery and models of care within the Older Persons Mental Health Service.
 
Holding a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, you will have appropriate specialist qualifications and be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration. You will have proven experience in using ICT in the clinical care of consumers, along with experience in the supervision and teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff. Your high level of professional integrity, leadership and motivational skills will equip you to work constructively with and lead a multidisciplinary team.
