Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry
Waitemata District Health Board serves the communities of North and West Auckland and the Rodney District, a population of nearly 600,000.  Dedicated to the delivery of public health care, Waitemata is committed to “making a healthy difference” to the patient, their family/Whanau, the community and Iwi, and the healthcare workforce.
The Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Team based at North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals provide a service to the Emergency Department, Wards and Specialist Medical Services.  The team is now funded for 2.8 FTE Consultant Psychiatrists, 2.0 FTE Registrars, 1.0 FTE Clinical Psychologist and 7.0 FTE Community Nurses. 
We have vacancies in both the North and West Teams, working full or part time will be considered.

The service operates a clinical governance model and there are opportunities to be involved in service development, service planning and quality improvement initiatives. 
Teaching and supervision of junior doctors/students and clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team are core functions for our Consultants.
Currently, there are established specialty clinics involving a Liaison model e.g. outpatient Renal transplant assessments. There are opportunities to develop further Liaison networks with other medical services.
The post will require a Consultant Psychiatrist with a certificate in Advanced Training in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry or equivalent specialist accreditation. The post-holder will also be expected to be part of the Adult Psychiatry SMO on-call roster.
