Eating disorders: Clinical practice guidelines and associated resources
Key practice points
- Care for people with eating disorders should be provided within a recovery-oriented practice framework.
- Unless contraindicated, family or significant others should be enlisted as partners in the assessment and treatment process.
- Multidisciplinary care is needed to ensure that the individual gets access to the combined medical, dietetic and psychological interventions required.
- Treatment should occur across a continuum of care and settings, including outpatient, intensive outpatient with meal support, day program and inpatient treatment.
The following webinar provides information about the guideline and is accredited for CPD under section 4.6.
