Dr Fatma Lowden

Dr Fatma Lowden completed her Consultant Psychiatrist degree at the Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in Ankara, Turkey. After her studies, she worked as a staff specialist at the Turkish Ministry of Health, running psychiatry inpatient and forensic drug offender units. After several years, Dr Lowden moved her career focus to include research, teaching and publishing at local universities.
After moving to Australia and taking a break to enjoy family life, Dr Lowden retrained in medicine at Royal Canberra, Woden Valley and Calvary hospitals and completed her examinations for overseas qualified doctors in 1990. Dr Lowden obtained RANZCP Fellowship in 1994 and also holds a Diploma in Psychotherapy, which she completed through the Australia and New Zealand Association of Psychotherapy in 1999.
Dr Lowden has had a distinguished career working in Canberra and Sydney, not just in clinical work but also as a psychodynamic psychotherapy trainer and supervisor and CBT trainer for the ACT division of General Practitioners of Australia.
