RANZCP Mentoring Program: applications closing soon

Applications are closing soon for the 2021 RANZCP Mentoring Program.

If you are a Fellow or Affiliate member and want to offer your support to the next generation of psychiatrists, or if you are a trainee or early career psychiatrist wanting to seek professional career support and guidance – now’s the time to apply online via the RANZCP Mentoring webpage.

The RANZCP Mentoring Program is a free member-only service providing a facilitated eight-month mentoring program specifically designed to match and pair mentees with suitably experienced College Fellows and Affiliate members.

It offers eligible trainees and early career psychiatrists who are in their first two years post-Fellowship with access to confidential, non-supervisory support from another more experienced psychiatrist. Mentees receive valuable support and professional inclusion, access to a collegiate network, and professional guidance towards achieving long-term career goals.

One mentor from last year’s program provided this feedback – ‘mentoring is always rewarding – helping a young person progress their early career as a psychiatrist.’

Am I eligible to apply?

  • Participation as a mentor is open to all Fellows of the College (in Australia and New Zealand) and Affiliate members.
  • Participation as a mentee is open to all current trainees (Associate members) and early career psychiatrists who are in their first two years post-Fellowship. Rurally-based, and Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander or Māori trainees are strongly encouraged to participate in the program.

Mentoring partnership opportunities are available bi-nationally across Australia and New Zealand. Places to participate in the mentoring program are limited at this stage.

How do I apply?

Expressions of interest for both mentors and mentees are closing soon through the RANZCP Mentoring webpage.
