The College is deeply concerned for the many communities, including those of our members, devastated by fires currently burning in NSW and QLD.
RANZCP President, Associate Professor John Allan said: ‘We know there are many psychiatrists living in and working across threatened and affected areas on the east coast.
‘Our thoughts are with our colleagues, their families and friends who are impacted by these events.
‘We want our members to know that they have our full support in this difficult time and that we are here and available to assist in any way we can.
‘I know many of you will not only be affected personally, but will also be working with your communities to care for those who are struggling to cope with these incredibly challenging circumstances.
‘It is vital in looking after those around you, to also take care of your own mental health and wellbeing.
The College is committed to supporting any of our members experiencing difficulty.
