The Victorian Branch of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP Victorian Branch) congratulates RANZCP Fellow, Associate Professor Simon Stafrace, on his appointment to chief adviser of Mental Health Reform Victoria.
The RANZCP Victorian Branch is a strong supporter of the Royal Commission, and welcomed the Royal Commission Interim Report as an important step towards designing and implementing a mental health system that meets the needs of all Victorians into the future.
Currently Program Director of Psychiatry at Alfred Health, Associate Professor Stafrace joins the new office headed by former Oxfam director, Pam Anders.
Associate Professor Stafrace is the current Chair of the RANZCP Community Collaboration Committee, which partners with people with lived experience of mental illness and carers to develop policy and standards of practice and provide advice with respect to involving consumers, carers and family in mental health care.
The RANZCP Victorian Branch looks forward to working with Mental Health Reform Victoria to assist with the implementation of the recommendations within the Interim Report.
