Applications for the 2020 RANZCP Foundation Early Research Career Grant are now open with up to A$10,000 in grants available.

Recognising that knowledge of research theory and methods is an essential skill in psychiatry, the RANZCP Foundation Early Research Career Grant is designed to encourage applicants to undertake innovative research in psychiatry and be a springboard to enhance the applicant’s research career.

Applicants who are new to research, including those who have either not received any research funding individually themselves, or have previously undertaken research as part of a team rather than being the lead researcher are encouraged to apply.

The grant is also open to Affiliates and Fellows who will conduct the research in either Australia or New Zealand.

Applications are assessed by the College’s Committee for Research on the basis of a research protocol submitted by the applicant.

The grant of up to A$10,000 will be awarded on the basis of the researcher’s expected contribution to psychiatry in Australia and/or New Zealand.

Application forms and guidelines are available on the ‘Apply for a research grant’ section of the RANZCP Foundation website.

The deadline for applications is 9am (AEST) Friday 31 July 2020.
